arrangements
Any prisoner locked in a cell can summon a members of staff immediately in case of
urgent need
There are good maintenance arrangements
Cells are free from ligature points , or the risks they present are managed.
There are precautions undertaken for the use of cells with restricted natural light and
facilities.
Custody suite staff can safely evacuate prisoners or detainees from the custody suite in
the event of an emergency.
Checking out that the temperature of the cells is suitable (summer and winter)

What excess custody capacity there is to allow suites to be shut so that essential
maintenance can be carried out

exercises or also include a practice evacuation
When the staff last carried out a cell smoke test at each site
Whether custody suites can be evacuated safely in emergencies, taking into account
the physical security, the need for ready access to keys and the fact they may have
prisoners or detainees with disabilities
What they would do in the event of a fire.
