Ombudswoman receives UK Deputy Head of Mission to discuss joint cooperation

Ghada Hameed Habib, the Ombudswoman, received Fiona Walker Doyle, the Deputy Head of Mission of the United Kingdom to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting aimed to enhance bilateral cooperation and share expertise.

During the meeting, the Ombudswoman gave an overview of the Ombudsman Office's recent activities, based on her 11th annual report, highlighting transparency, accountability, and building public trust within law enforcement.

They discussed shared concerns including continuous training for investigators, best international practices in handling complaints, and the media's role in raising awareness of rights and complaint processes.

On her part, Doyle commended the Ombudsman Office’s key role in advancing human rights in Bahrain and emphasised the importance of continued cooperation and expertise exchange.

The Ombudswoman emphasised the value of such visits in fostering effective communication with international partners to improve performance and achieve the Ombudsman Office’s goals. She expressed hope for ongoing beneficial cooperation with the UK Embassy in the Kingdom.
