Ghada Hameed Habib, Secretary General of the Ombuds Office, received Laurens Westhoff, outgoing Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands accredited to the Kingdom of Bahrain and resident in the State of Kuwait, on the occasion of the conclusion of his diplomatic tenure.
The Secretary General commended Ambassador Westhoff’s efforts in enhancing cooperation between Bahrain and the Netherlands across various domains, in support of shared interests.
She also highlighted the Ombuds Office’s recent activities and its role in promoting transparency and respect for human rights within law enforcement institutions, in line with Bahrain’s comprehensive national vision.
Ambassador Westhoff expressed appreciation for the Ombuds Office’s contributions to advancing a culture of human rights in the Kingdom.
The Secretary General wished the ambassador success in his future diplomatic endeavours and reiterated the Office’s commitment to continued cooperation with accredited diplomatic missions.
The meeting was also attended by Shaikh Mohammed bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director of International Cooperation and Development at the Ombuds Office.
