His Excellency Interior Minister, Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received on Wednesday Ombudsman General Secretary Nawaf Mohammed Al Ma'awda , in the presence of the Assistant Undersecretary of Legal Affairs.
At the beginning of the meeting, HE Interior Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation to Mr Al Ma’awda and all the Ombudsman’s staff, hailing the role of the organisation that was established as part of the pioneer steps of the reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa that aims to reinforce justice and the power of law.
He said that the Ombudsman has won the trust of all for its professionalism and cooperation with international human rights organisations. During the meeting, HE Interior Minister received a copy of the Ombudsman’s 3rd annual report of 2015-2016. He directed the concerned authorities in the Interior Ministry to respond fast on MOI-related points mentioned in the report.
HE Interior Minister highlighted the development and modernization programme of the Interior Ministry as part of its community partnership strategy to reinforce cooperation and interaction with various organisations and NGOs.
Ombudsman General Secretary expressed his thanks and appreciation to HE Interior Minister for his keenness to reinforce cooperation with the Ombudsman. He said that such cooperation has contributed to the success of the operations of the Ombudsman.
