Egypt's Attorney General meets Ombudswoman

Mohamed Shawky, Egypt's Prosecutor General, met with Ghada Hameed Habib, the Ombudswoman and Chairperson of the Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commission (PDRC), to discuss cooperation between the commission and the Egyptian Public Prosecution. Both sides focused on enhancing human rights in related areas.

The Attorney General commended the commission's role in monitoring detention conditions and treatment.

The programme for the Bahraini delegation, included a visit to the 10th of Ramadan rehabilitation centre to learn about Egypt’s oversight procedures.

The Ombudswoman expressed her appreciation to the Attorney General and wished for further development of legal collaboration between the two countries.
