The Ombudsman and the Special Investigation Unit organized a specialized workshop on the Principles of Independent Investigation with the participation of international experts

The Ombudsman Office and the Special Investigation Unit (SIU), in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Kingdom Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Independent Office for Police Conduct in the United Kingdom (IOPC) organized, virtually, a specialized workshop on the "Principles of Independent Investigation" on March 9 and 10, 2021. The workshop participants of the workshop were members of the Ombudsman Office, the SIU, the Ombudsman of the National Intelligence Agency, the Department of Internal Audit and Investigations at the Ministry of Interior, and the Prisoners and Detainee Rights Commission. The workshop was presented by the Ombudsman, the head of the SIU, and representatives of the UNDP, the United Kingdom Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the IOPC.

This workshop came as a continuation of the cooperation programs in the field of developing the expertise and skills of human cadres of the different entities. The participants in the workshop were introduced to professional practices used by the IOPC, one of the long-standing agencies in the field of ombudsman offices and similar institutions, in order to develop their skills and knowledge in their field of work.
