Council of Ministers congratulates the Ombudsman Office on winning the Chaillot Prize for the Promotion of Human Rights

Manama, 24 November: The Minister of State for Information and Official Government Spokesperson, Sameera Rajab, stated at a press conference yesterday, 23 November, following the weekly Council of Ministers meeting that the Cabinet has congratulated the Ombudsman Office for the Ministry Interior and the National Institution for Human Rights for willing the Chaillot Prize for the Promotion of Human Rights in the GCC region in 2014.

The awarding body stated the prize was given in order to acknowledge and further encourage the Ombudsman Office's and the National Institution for Human Rights' efforts and work for the promotion and protection of Human Rights in Bahrain.

The Chaillot Prize is presented annually by the European Union Delegation in Riyadh, in cooperation with embassies from the European Union States in GCC countries.
