Manama, 14 December 2014: The Independent Ombudsman Office held an awareness seminar at the Pakistani Club yesterday in coordination with the Embassy of Pakistan in Bahrain.
The event was attended by many members of the Pakistani Community and members of civil society in Bahrain, including Mr Zahid Sheikh, the Chairman of the Pakistani Club.
The aim of the seminar was to raise awareness about the role and functions of the Ombudsman Office and outreach to the expatriate communities in Bahrain. The Ombudsman team was led by Mr Osama Al Osfoor, the Deputy Ombudsman, and the seminar was conducted by Mr Fahad Al Binali, the Head of International Cooperation, and Mr Habeeb Abu Baker, Foreign National Community Coordinator and Translator from the same department.
The event covered an overview of the work of the Ombudsman Office since its launch, an explanation of the complaints process, and the scope of the Office's mandate. It was followed by a question and answer session.
More similar events are planned for the future to outreach to other communities in Bahrain.
