Interior Minister receives Ombudsman annual report

Manama, May 28 (BNA): Interior Minister Lt-Gen Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa today received Ombudsman's Nawaf Al-Ma'awda, who presented the Ombudsman's annual report 2014-2015, in the presence of Interior's Inspector General, Undersecretary and Chief of Public Security. 

Interior Minister lauded the role played by the Ombudsman in bolstering justice, rule of law and promoting human rights, as a prominent step of the royal reforms. 

He noted the Ombudsman's professionalism and cooperation with international human rights institutions. 

He directed to promptly respond to the annual report items related to the work of the Interior Ministry. 

He pointed out the ministry's development and modernization programs to protect human rights, in line with the community partnership methodology aimed at reinforcing cooperation for the dissemination of human rights culture in Bahrain. 

Al-Ma'awda hailed the Interior Minister's keenness to enhance joint cooperation, and his support that has contributed to the success of the Ombudsman Office's missions.
