Ombudsman Launches Expat Community Awareness Campaign

Manama, December 09/2014 — Members of the Interior Ministry’s Ombudsman Office paid to the Embassy of Pakistan today as part of continuous interaction with the representatives of the expatriate communities in Bahrain to inform them about the role and function of the Ombudsman Office.

The visit is also part of an awareness campaign to inform about the work mechanisms of the Office and to outreach to members of Bahrain's expatriate community. These mechanisms include providing guiding instructions and leaflets in other languages to inform the expatriate communities in Bahrain about their legal rights and duties.

The visit was conducted by Mr Fahad Al Binali, the Head of International Cooperation, and Mr Habeed Abu Baker, the Foreign National Community Coordinator at the Ombudsman Office. They Met with Mr. Maqsood Qadir Shah, Counsellor for Community Welfare at the Embassy, and prominent members of the Pakistani Community in Bahrain that included business and community leaders.
