Ombudsman Office Holds Workshop

Manama, Sept. 11./2013 (BNA) – The Ombudsman Office at the Interior Ministry held here today a specialised workshop for ombudsmen's investigators, in cooperation with the British Embassy to Bahrain.

Former Secretary-General of the Prisoner Ombudsman for Northern Ireland Pauline McCabe delivered a lecture in the workshop, due to run until tomorrow, Thursday.

The workshop focuses on a number of important technical issues related to mechanisms of controlling prisons and detention centre.

The event is part of the programmes and training sessions held by the Ombudsman to upgrade its human cadres and update them on the latest skills implemented by similar offices across the world, in line with its desires to take advantage of international standards.
