Manama, Jan. 15. (BNA) -- Ombudsman Secretary-General Nawaf Mohammed Al-Maawda received here today a delegation from the Public Prosecution at the United Arab Emirates, currently on a visit to Bahrain.

The Secretary-General briefed the delegation on the duties and responsibilities of the Ombudsman, its role in receiving, investigating and following-up on complaints, monitoring reformation and detention centres and its relations with the Public Prosecution and the Special Investigations Unit.

They reviewed the Ombudsman's first annual report and the most important recommendations mentioned in it.

Ombudsman Deputy Secretary-General Osama Ahmed Al-Asfoor and Administrative Affairs Director Abdulrahman Ali Abdulrahman Bilal were present.
