The Ombudsman meets with the French Ambassador to the Kingdom

Manama, September 23rd 2013 (BNA) –The Ombudsman at Interior Ministry, Nawaf Mohammed Al Ma’awda met today Monday with the French Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Christian Tiesto at the General Secretariat, where he welcomed him and presented a brief on the role and competencies of the Ombudsman.

Nawaf Al-Ma’awda also briefed the French Ambassador on the works of the Ombudsman in the field of receiving complaints and monitoring the detention and reform centres, since its inception at the beginning of last July.

Both sides also discussed ways of joint cooperation between the Ombudsman and the French Embassy to Manama in the relevant areas.

The meeting was attended by First Counsellor of the French Embassy Jean-Paul Ghoneim, and Deputy Secretary-General Osama Al Asfoor.
